The Weight Loss Journey

Today marks the second week I've been doing Weight Watchers online. I've lost a modest 2.2 lbs, however I hope that losing at this rate will help it stay off. In addition, our work is starting the Biggest Loser challenge for the next 8 weeks. I'm hoping that between the two, I can shed off around 10-15 lbs before the holidays. The motivation with this is not only working as a team to lose weight, but you pay money if you gain!! If you aren't familiar with how it works, here are the rules:

Fees:

Entry Fee: $10

Weigh-In Penalties:

Gain of: Fee
0.0 to 0.9 lbs-- $2
1.0 to 1.9 lbs-- $4
2.0 to 2.9 lbs-- $6
3.0 to 3.9 lbs-- $8
4.0 or more-- $10

Weigh-Ins:
Weigh-Ins will be done on the same scale, at any time during the day of the weigh-in.

Each participant may ONCE during the competition elect to skip a weigh-in with no penalty. (Pass)

Should a participant miss a weigh in due to PTO (Paid Time Off) or other reasons of unavailability, and have already used their ‘Pass’, they must provide healthy snacks for next week’s ‘Biggest Loser’ mtg.

Scoring:
Scoring will be based on percentage of weigh lost, and weight will be measured to 1/10th of a pound.

Team Score will be the percentage of total team weight lost to total team starting weight.
Prizes:

The individual ‘Biggest Loser’ will receive 40% of the cash pot.

The top team of losers will receive the remaining 60% of the cash pot.

Weekly, non-cash prizes for individuals or teams may be awarded as available throughout the competition.

What are the rules?

ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR HEALTH PHYSICIAN IF PARTICIPATING

Weigh-ins will be one-on-one due to sensitivity and confidentiality.

No disrobing or loading up allowed during weigh-ins. You must take off your shoes for the actual weigh-in.

Healthy eating and exercise are encouraged.

Drastic weight loss (over 5 lbs/week) is discouraged.

If you miss a weigh-in one week, your previous week's weight will be recorded for the missed week (i.e., zero weight loss for that week).

You will be provided an individual weigh-in record to keep track of weight fluctuations.

Weekly team weight and individual competitor weight loss percentage will be posted.

Individual biggest loser will be announced each week.
