Every family has appointments, practices, and other events throughout their weeks. But, it seems that between the four of us in this house, we have never found a central place to keep up with things. I use a system, and Josh uses a system. But what happens if I don’t know about an appointment he puts on his calendar and vice versa? With Josh’s schedule, he makes appointments on his days off. If that appointment happens to be on a Teacher Workday, then suddenly Tyler is tagging along to Josh’s string of appointments. And, I can’t ignore the fact that sometimes I just plain forget things!
A friend of mine recommended Cozi, and it has been really helpful so far! It is web-based, meaning you can access it from any computer with Internet. It also syncs with iPhones and other devices. There is an app for it (free) that will let you view your calendar and add to it. It will send a weekly preview of your week to everyone in your family with an email address. You assign colors to each member of your family for an easy snapshot of who is doing what. You can send messages to a family member reminding them of an event or telling them that you added something. There are a lot of extras that I probably have not even figured out yet. And, the calendar feature is only one aspect to Cozi. As you can see below, you can create to-do lists, shopping lists, and create a family journal. It is totally free unless you want it ad-free.
Here is a snapshot of our week (minus the normal work and school routines)! Click on the image for a larger view…unless you have amazing vision.
Here’s to a more organized life!
