I know that part of the kindergarten curriculum is learning to read, but it still caught me by surprise to find out how fast Tyler was learning it! I don't think I really realized how many words he knew until this past weekend. I heard him read a book with minimal help. So, last night we read part of the book he checked out at the library, "Go, Dog, Go," which is a perfect beginner's book for him to read! He read almost every sentence by himself! I have a video of it, but I can't upload it on here due to formatting issues with my new camera.
He is reading words such as:
"is," "in," "like," "dog," "little," "the," "can," "my," "you," and many others I just can't remember. He is also spelling the words as well. He has to write the full date on each homework page he does, and this week he told me "mommy, I don't need help spelling October because I already know how to spell it."
We are so excited at everything he is learning in Kindergarten!
