Ryan is napping about once a day. During the week at daycare, he gets in a 1-2 hour nap. On the weekends, depending on our plans, he gets in 1-2 naps each lasting 1-2 hours. He is going down to bed between 7 and 7:30 pm each night and sleeping until around 6 or 6:30 am. He likes to make some whines throughout the night, but being the loving mother I am, I just choose to ignore them most times. :) He puts himself to bed so easily. All I have to do is say that it's night night time, and he will go into his room, look at the CD player for me to turn it on, and then go stand by his crib. A quick hug and kiss, and then I'm out of the room!
My chunky little man loves to eat but is a tad picky. We're working on this! For breakfast, he loves cereal bars, fruit, french toast, applesauce, waffles, pancakes, and muffins. For lunch, he eats whatever his daycare provides them, and usually I see an "ate some of my food" on his daily report. As for dinner, he enjoys chicken nuggets, pizza, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and spaghetti. We try veggies, and he usually turns his head. He does not like chicken (grilled, etc), but last night he did eat it once I put ketchup on it. Is this kid mine or what?! His favorite snack foods are yogurt covered raisins, fruit, and any kind of cracker. And it's no surprise that Ryan loves any kind of dessert! He literally does a dance in his chair with excitement!
We've had a few colds and fevers in the past months, but he really handles them fairly well. We are preparing for the cold and flu season and praying that we all stay well in our house!
Ryan is such a happy baby unless you make him mad, which at this age is highly possible! He is entering the pre-"terrible two" stage where he arches his back and screams when you take something away or tell him no. If he were in charge, he would eat nonstop, suck on paci all day, and play outside all day. Oh, and never get a diaper change!
He loves to dance and sing! He will immitate the inflection of songs such as the "ABCs" or "Itsy Bitsy Spider." He bounces, twirls, and giggles!

Here are some other things that he can do at 18 months old:
- Ryan is jabbering away. I don't keep up with how many words he is saying, but here are some that I can remember: Mama, Dada, "nigh nigh" (night night), "shs" (shoes), bye bye, ball, "mil" (milk), uh oh, "Ty Ty" (Tyler), "punkin" (pumpkin), hi, outside, mine, Mickey
- He loves to imitate!
- He enjoys books and will come over and back up to sit in my lap. But he doesn't sit still very long before going to pick out another book!
- He can follow simple instructions such as putting his paci away or going to sit down.
- He can stack blocks and then knock them down.
- He can correctly put the right shapes in the shape sorter toy he has
- He can hold a crayon and color.
- He can feed himself using a spoon and can drink from a straw.
- He is a pro at climbing. We have to watch out for him!!
- He loves to give hugs and snuggle.
- His favorite toys are adult objects, like combs, phones, cooking equipment, and sunglasses! But if we are speaking of kid toys, he definitely loves his kitchen the best!
