Happy Halloween 2011!

It was a dreary Halloween this year. I can't recall a past Halloween where it rained. Trying to explain to Tyler that we might not be able to go out was not fun. In fact, his face pretty much looked like this.

Around 6:30 pm, however, we had trick or treaters at our door.  I was kind of waiting to see if kids in the neighborhood were going to go out before venturing out in the rain with two kids.  Of course, Josh was working.  So, I gathered up Optimus Prime and a confused/tired Superman and loaded them in the car for a quick drive-by trick or treating experience.

Meet the cutest redheaded superheros this side of the blogging hemisphere.

Mr. Independent has no idea what is going on, but he sure as heck knows that shoes are required.

"Ryan smile for the camera! Ryan....Ryan...."

So, I did not bring my camera into the wet cold to document Tyler's trick or treating experience, as I wasn't sure if I could hold that, an umbrella, direct traffic, console a screaming Superman in the car, and yell for Tyler to stop asking for more candy and come back to the car.  We went to around 6-7 houses which satisfied Tyler.  We headed back home and sorted the candy out.

As you can see, Tyler's hair is soaking wet.

Ryan wondering what this stuff is and if it's edible.  But then again, to an 18 month old, everything is.

"Chocolate at bedtime?  Score!"

Josh called not long later telling me about the "crazies" out in the rain trick or treating and how parents just can't tell their kids no.

He would have done exactly what I did for the boys.  :)

Since it was raining, I did not get any outside pictures.  Nor did I get my traditional picture of them sitting on the front porch next to the pumpkins.  So, we will be celebrating on into November with costumes on.

Because I clearly need that picture.
