13 Months

Ryan turned 13 months on the 22nd!  I'm not sure I will continue to do monthly updates unless there is a big change from the previous month. I might combine a few months together.  But considering I have a big update, this justifies a blog post!

We finally have a walker!  Four days short of turning 13 months, he started taking off.  He has been taking steps here and there for the past month, but in the past week he finally took the plunge!  Each day he walks more and more and becomes more confident.  He still does his share of crawling, but it's so funny to see him do the waddle walk!

Along with turning one came some previews of tantrums.  He is discovering his emotions and clearly expresses them when he is unhappy!  He has become extremely clingy which is always hard on me because he wants to be held all of the time.  Of course, I can't always do that so he ends up crying and screaming!  I remember these days with Tyler!  Not easy!

He is eating table food but only likes select foods.  He will eat oatmeal, bananas, strawberries, chicken nuggets, crackers, cheese, and dry cereal.  He still likes baby food, so we give him that at least once a day.  He is obsessed with milk.  He would drink it all day long if he could!  I thought I could get by on a half a gallon of whole milk a week.  However, this only gets us through half of a week!

He is an outdoor baby for sure.  Some of his biggest crying fits are when he sees someone come in from outside or go outside without him.  Or, even if I just walk past a door while holding him, he leans like he is reaching for the door.  I'm not sure what he thinks he wants to do outside, however, because he dislikes the grass!  He would love to explore in the garage (which is a no no) and swing, I suppose! We brought out his water table he received for his birthday this past weekend so that he could play in that.  That only lasted about 10 minutes!  I would love to bring out his baby pool, but I'm afraid that will upset Tyler since he cannot swim with a broken arm!

He still takes two great naps a day.  He is our napper.  Tyler wasn't!  And he is so easy to put to bed.  He takes a sip of milk, we give him the paci, and lay him down.  He waits for his green lovey blanket and then falls asleep shortly after.

He's learning so much and loves to imitate us.  We can't wait to see him grow even more!

Here is a short video of Ryan learning to walk!
