Today when I picked up Tyler from preschool, his teacher informed me he didn't have a great day. Apparently, during nap time he was being loud and making noises. When the teacher told him he needed to go to sleep and be quiet, Tyler refused. His preschool has an apple discipline tree. She took his apple and "dropped" it so that it looked like it was falling on the chart. This is considered a warning. When he kept on being loud, she brought him over and showed him that his apple was falling to the bucket. Considering that Tyler's never operated on an apple system, he was not moved by this. When the apple goes into the bucket that means you have to sit in time out (or what they call the "thinking chair.") Tyler refused to sit in the chair. Apparently, the last warning is a call to the parents, but they didn't call. So not only did he not take a nap (which is common these days), but he didn't listen. He's always such a good listener so both the teacher and I hope this was just an off day. As we left he threw a fit refusing to get in the carseat. So right there in the parking lot, I had to spank him. He screamed the entire way home to which I didn't say a word. Daddy was waiting and had a few words with him. It's been a tough day! I hope that it was just an off day and not the start of a new attitude!
