25 Random Things

Wow, three posts in one day...is that allowed? Keep scrolling down!

Recently on Facebook, there is something going around called 25 Random Things, and so I participated. Thought everyone might be interested if I posted it here.

1. In the almost 5 1/2 years I've known my husband (counting dating), it's taken me this long to fully understand and appreciate our differences. Now that I know them, I embrace them.
2. I consider myself good at things, but the only thing I've ever felt exceptional at was dancing. I miss those days and think sometimes the reason I'd love a little girl one day would be to live it through her.
3. I love raw cookie dough, brownie batter, and cake batter. I've been known to never get around to actually baking things.
4. I'm a stress eater which pretty much means I eat junk about once a week. Due to numbers 3 and 4, it has been hard for me to lose the remaining 10 lbs of baby weight I have.
5. I'm a great working mother, and I will not ever change that or feel guilty about it. It's not about lacking patience, love for my child, or having wrong priorities. It's about me needing to have an identity and role outside of being a mother, and I'm a better mother due to that. However, I will never tell anyone that being a stay-at-home mom is not a job. It's a darn hard one.
6. I love pictures. I love photography. I love capturing moments that I'm so scared I'll one day forget. There is not a day I don't take a least one picture.
7. I loved high school, and I've found it hard to find many people who can say that. Most find that those four years are awkward ones. For me, it was the beginning of very early life lessons.
8. I also loved college. I met some of my best friends in which I'm still in touch with and hang out despite the fact that we all live in different cities across the state. I learned really fast that the lessons I learned in high school were only to prepare me for the lessons I learned in my four years in college.
9. I met my husband through online dating, which I was previously convinced was a form of dating for losers. After an ad came through on my email, I decided to give it a go after having nothing to lose. Six months later, Josh and I were engaged.
10. I'm extremely lucky to have a great mother-in-law. She moved in with us while looking for a house, and there are not many people who I'd miss moving out of our 1500 sq foot house. I'm also extremely lucky to have a great mother who would drop anything to help. Both "moms" are very different but they have balancing personalities that work perfectly for me.
11. If I won the lottery, I would not buy the biggest house, nicest car, quit my job, or move to the beach. I would work part time, put my child in a private school, buy a 3,000 sq foot house with land, and pay off bills. Ok...and I'd go on a vacation!
12. I wish I could remember the early moments/days of being a new mom. I wish I could have had a normal birth and had that initial bond with Tyler. C-sections are preferred methods of birth with many mothers, but I hated mine and I dread it the next time around.
13. If I knew I was good enough or had the time to become good enough, I would start a photography business specializing in children photography.
14. I'm officially addicted to the internet. Facebook, blogging, uploading pictures, MM, surfing the web, etc.
15. My husband is the most inventive chef I know. He can somehow add ingredients together, and it turns out awesome.
16. I am not the best housewife. I don't keep the house clean daily, though I do my best considering I work during the week. I keep in mind that Tyler won't rememeber how clean the house was growing up.
17. I try to love the city we live in, but it's always a challenge. Going from a large city with the grocery store 1 min away to a small country town with the grocery store 15 mins away is one of the many differences I face daily.
18. I'd rather spend money on my son than money on myself.
19. I love making yearly documentary videos. I've made one every year since Tyler's been born. It documents what he has accomplished that year and will be a way for him to see what he did when he was small.
20. I can't stand people who have nothing better to do than to act holier than thou. I hate it when people don't follow through with promises (little or big).
21. Nothing makes me smile more than to see my son and husband hanging out together. He's such a momma's boy that it's extra special to see them together.
22. I had the most beautiful wedding ever and dreamed of that day for a long time, however if I could do it again I would have eloped and used the money for a down payment on a house. I've been trying to sell my wedding dress for years despite the fact that my friends think it's sacreligious.
23. I want another child, but I'm terrified of being able to afford one in daycare.
24. I can't watch a movie more than once which means I never buy DVDs (though Josh does). I get bored after knowing what happens.
25. I hate mint flavored things which makes brushing my teeth a challenge. Thank God for cinnamon toothpaste.
