House, Kindergarten, T-ball, and New Words

After 11 months on the market and only five showings, our house is officially off the market—as in it didn’t sell.  Despite the location, I really don’t understand because we have a great house that shows well and is cheap, but we weren’t in a desperate situation so we will try again at the beginning of the  year probably with a new realtor. 

Tyler is beyond excited about kindergarten.  His open house at the new school is August 23.  We won’t know which day he will start because the kindergarteners are staggered the first four days.  We will get a letter the week before with teacher assignments and day assignments. I’m in the process of signing him up for the after school program.  We are doing the “occasional plan” which is five days per month.  We did the math, and Josh should be able to pick him up the rest of the time due to his schedule.  If we are wrong, we pay daily for any extra days.  We’ll try this plan for a month and see if it works or if we have to go to full time. 

Speaking of kindergarten, I attended my first PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) a few weeks ago.  They have had meetings throughout the summer, but I went to the last one to catch up.  There I met the principal, learned about the technology the school will have, and volunteered my time to help with activities on an as needed basis.  I would have loved to sign up for a committee, but unfortunately I am not sure I can take something else on. 

…and one reason for that is because we just signed Tyler up for tee ball in our city.  For reasons that I don’t understand, I have no idea what the schedule is, when the season starts, and what any of the details are.  All I know is that he will likely have two practices a week (I have no idea what days or times) and a game either Friday night or Saturday.  These people don’t serve the type A personality folks. 

Ryan just started saying “uh oh” and now loves to say it over and over again.  This, of course, means that he drops something on purpose just so he gets to say it.
