I skipped a 14 month update, so here is my update from the last two months! Ryan is doing quite a lot of things and going through a lot of changes. Verbally, he is saying “bye bye,” “dada,” “mamma,” “dan du" (for thank you), and “miiii” (for milk). You can tell that he really understands what we are saying and is starting to respond to commands like “go find Tyler” or “do you want milk?” He definitely understands us!
He is running everywhere he can and loves to climb! He climbs into things and onto things! Our neighbor and the lady who watched Ryan gave us a small recliner that was theirs, and Ryan loves climbing on it and then climbing back down!
He looooves his mamma, and I’m not just saying that because I’m the author of this post. He is a total mamma’s boy…sometimes a little too much, but Tyler was the exact same at this age. Ryan definitely needs me more than others right now! He also loves his big brother! He lights up when he sees Tyler, and he loves playing in Tyler’s room!
Ryan weighs around 23 lbs and definitely looks nice and healthy. Although he is over 20 lbs, I have not turned around his car seat. This is another example of how I am more overprotective the second time around than I was with Tyler. He is a fairly good eater although he has a clear preference for chicken nuggets, goldfish, fruit, and cereal bars! He loves drinking his milk, and will prefer that over any other drink.
It’s rare that he sleeps all night without some sort of whine or cry. He is still going to bed at 7pm and waking around 6 am. Lord help me, sometimes it’s even before 6am. Let’s just say that I’m at work much earlier than I was before because I have to get up now at 5:45 am in order to get in and out of the shower before he wakes up! The routine after that is tricky and involves strategic make-up applying, hair drying, and dressing while Ryan is either in the crib playing or tugging on my leg. It’s super awesome fun.
He is doing well so far in daycare. We’ve had a few sicknesses which is to be expected, and we will certainly be expecting many more! He had an easy time at drop offs his first week, but this week (after a week’s vacation) he’s had a much harder time when I leave him. However, he is fine before I get out of the parking lot! He is doing some fun activities such as finger painting, and today they had a water day with sprinklers, water tables, and a picnic!
That’s about it! I forgot to schedule his 15 month appointment until today, so his appointment is next week. I’ll update then!
