5 months old!

Oh, how the past month has been full of changes!  Ryan has developed a little personality, he continues to get chunkier (note the belly hanging out above!), and he has met all kinds of milestones!  I haven’t had time to take a more “professional” picture of him, but perhaps this weekend.

Ryan is in size 2 diapers and is wearing 9 months clothes if they are one piece!  He is quickly growing at a faster rate than Tyler did, so right now we have a very limited wardrobe until it gets cooler outside!  Come on Fall!  I don’t know his weight, but my guess is between 15-16 lbs. 

He is eating every 3-4 hours during the day and has his last bottle around 6:45 pm for a 7 pm bedtime.  Sleep is not so great right now, but we all know this because of my previous posts :)  We have had a rough month with sleeping BUT we might have found out a huge contributor.   I learned yesterday that Ryan has a tooth!  It literally must have happened in the past week because I’ve been checking!  I went to pick him up yesterday and his sitter was so excited to tell me!  Sure enough, it’s there poking through the bottom gums!  There was no drooling of any sort!  People kept saying it was teething that was causing the sleep issues, and I kept saying no.  You’d think I’d have known considering he is my second!   And considering he puts everything in his mouth!

I mean come on…

Regardless, this is our most exciting milestone this month.  I thought Tyler was an early teether at 5 1/2 months, but Ryan has him beat coming in right before 5 months!  I’ll get a picture once it comes in better.

Another exciting milestone this month (and in fact, as of yesterday as well), is that he finally rolled over back to belly!  He’s done it once before a couple of months ago, but I can hardly count it.  Sure enough he allowed mommy to witness it last night after our sitter told us he did it at her house yesterday! 

Ryan sticks his feet in his mouth every chance he can get.  It makes changing him all the more fun!  He is laughing more and more and sitting up much better.  This is the month that Tyler sat up (5 1/2 mos), so I have no doubt that Ryan is on his way! 

He is a MOVER.  Always on the move, always curious of his surroundings.  I swear he will be crawling in no time.  He is already scooting!  He will end up on the complete opposite side of the crib completely turned around.  He LOVES to stand on his feet!!

This month we will possibly introduce some foods to him, although I have to say I’m really not in a hurry this time!  Soon, it will be time to bring out the exersaucer and jumperoo and say goodbye to the bouncy seat. 

I’ve said it before, but we love our sitter for Ryan.  She is so wonderful with him, and I love that she cares so much for him.  It makes leaving him easier.  And, considering she can get him to nap for 3 hours in the afternoon, she’s a keeper! 

Ryan is the most laid back and happy baby I’ve known.  The fact that he was teething and I didn’t even know it beyond the sleeping habits at night is amazing.  He is hardly ever fussy unless he’s tired or hungry.  He loves being outdoors. My biggest issue with him is sleeping at night!  I’m taking it all in and cherishing every moment I have with him as a baby!
