One of my favorite things about Tyler's preschool is the constant line of communication the teachers have with the parents. Not only do I have the opportunity to hear about his day, but I get a newsletter each Friday telling me what his class has done for the week.
For example last week, his newsletter highlighted the following:
His class is practicing for their Christmas program. This would explain why early last week he was singing jingle bells on the car ride home!
The letter of the week was G, so like every week they do things that start with that letter. For example, last week Ms. Jeannette brought in her guitar and played some Spanish songs. The children got to hit golf balls. They made things that started with the letter G with play dough.
This week, they move on to the letter H. According to his newsletter, they will have crazy Hat Days this Thursday and Friday.
The color of the month is brown, and they will focus on things they are thankful for. Speaking of Thanksgiving, they will have a special feast the week of Thanksgiving.
And every week, they have show and tell. Tyler LOVES this and asks if every day is show and tell day! This gives the children a chance to stand in front of the class and explain what they brought.
One of the main things I ask for each week is to know what Tyler is doing and to feel like he is learning each day. And, I'm so happy to know that each day I drop him off, he is learning even more than I could ask for. Josh and I are so happy with his preschool and so glad we found them when we did!
