The Flu

What a freaking chaotic 24 hrs. I started vomitting at 7pm and literally. never. stopped. I was throwing up things that ...eh were not food. (TMI) I looked at the trash can in the morning and it was bright green...

I started hypervenialating Wednesay morning b/c my body was so exhausted, so Josh drove Tyler and I to his preschool and then straight to the ER. On the way to the ER, I started breathing so hard that literally first my head went numb and then my hands locked up. Like, I could not move anything. I was FREAKING. I was a basketcase walking in and they admitted me immediately. They got the IV started, took my temp (102) and got some zofran in me. The numbness and locking of my hands went away within an hour. It hurt so much, and seriously I thought I was paralized! They kept me for 5 hrs b/c my blood pressure was higher than normal. Right about the time they discharged me, my fever spiked again so it was a rough ride home. I'm exhausted and so worn out. I CANNOT believe that the flu caused this. Everyone I know had not thrown up with the flu. Dr said that some people react differently. They said I was definitely severly dehydrated. All I kept thinking is that I'll never have another kid b/c it was reminescent of throwing up for 17 weeks and landing in the ER during my 7th week. For 5 hrs all I did was sit. No tv or anything. It was miserable. My back killed and the freaking bed was awful. I'm so glad to be home. I'm quarantined to my bedroom and Josh is watching Tyler in the mornings and at night. So much help for me. I called him home Tuesday night from work b/c I just couldn't handle it by myself. I hate being sick by myself! I'm on zofran and motrin. My throat is excruitating, and is probably worse from all the throwing up. So, I'm home the rest of the week. Hopefully by Monday, I can get back to work. I have so much due. Tyler's 3 yr visit was yesterday which we obviously called to cancel.

And yes, I got the flu shot.

well, on the bright side. since you were such a basketcase the ER probably took you back faster than they would have if you had been acting calmer.

That's some great advice on how to get out of the ER waiting room quickly :)
get better!
