Tyler's Birthday Party: The Big Present

So, since Toby's passing we would not even consider another pet for a while.  Coming up on a year since he passed, the subject started to come up more and more.  Our neighbors down the road had puppies about three months ago, and they gave away all but two puppies.  They kept those for themselves.  We joked that if the kids didn't take care of them that we'd take one.  Well, Friday night we got a call saying if we wanted one we could.  Josh went in child mode begging me and saying he'd take care of him.  Ha!  Just like a child.  I had to be the grown up and bring up all of the realities of having not only a pet but a puppy!  It would be like having a third child!  But in the end, I gave in because I knew Tyler had been wanting a dog and what better timing than for his birthday!

So, after Tyler's party Saturday, Josh stepped out of the house to go get the dog.  I wrote a note that I knew Tyler would be able to read without help.

It's safe to say that Tyler was smitten.  :)

We didn't have a name picked out so today Tyler decided on Walker.  More about Walker soon.  :)
