From the moment you were born, I’ve had an intense desire to capture every moment. Whether that moment was through a photo, a blog entry, or a video, I wanted to document your every move. Later down the road I suppose you’ll either appreciate this or be embarrassed by it. I’ve documented so many moments over the past six years.
Your first smile.
The first time you called me “mama” (which totally took way too long).
The first time you slept through the night.
Your first days of preschool.
Your graduation from preschool.
Your first broken bone.
Your first day of kindergarten.
The loss of your first pet.
The list goes on and on, and I’ve always wanted to be there to record each experience in case I ever forget these moments and so when you aren’t so embarrassed, you can enjoy them too. You love watching your yearly videos and seeing pictures of yourself on my blog. You literally have a virtual autobiography at your fingertips for the moments you may or may not remember growing up.
Today you are turning six. I’m not sure where the time has gone, but I do know that I’ve learned more in the past six years than I ever thought I could. You never cease to amaze us with your infectious smile, goofy giggle, and compassionate heart. Where there was a time you were a step behind, you are now a leap ahead academically. We could not be prouder of the boy you are becoming. You’ve made parenting pretty easy for us, but we know this is only the beginning. We encourage you to stay innocent, believe in the Lord, remain original and unique, and never stop smiling. We love you!
Happy Birthday!
