Our Third Child, Walker

Meet Walker, our third child in this house. After a full week, we've learned quite a bit about each other.

He had some anxiety issues for a lot of the week which mainly affected him sleeping alone in his crate without his brother.  Josh and I slept with earplugs every night!  Just as I got Ryan sleeping through the  night, I had another reason to be up!

We've had our share of potty accidents in the house, but I've surprisingly dealt with it fairly well.  They tend to happen on my watch and not Josh's.  Of course.  I'm glad we have mostly wood floors!

Walker is a total cuddler!  He loves to snuggle next to us and to play with Tyler!  Tyler has really enjoyed getting to know his new dog and has helped take him on walks every afternoon.

Ryan and Walker have more of a love/hate relationship.  Seeing that Walker is an energetic puppy, he knocks Ryan down quite a bit which brings the hatred out of Ryan.  "Bad dog!  No!  Bad!  Sit!"  At least he is learning to communicate with words.  I have to watch those two!

I'm learning having a life with a dog again.  It feels very strange yet so comfortable at the same time.  Many times, I look at him and see Toby in the face.  But these two are definitely different personality wise.  Walker is much more laid back than Toby was.

A few Walker facts:

He weighs 22 lbs.
He is 50% boxer and 50% English Spring Spaniel (called boxspring or sproxer)
He was named by Tyler.  Bennett was a close second.  We nixed Lick and Blacky.  Can you guess why?
He stays in a crate when both Josh and I are at work.
