Weight Loss Update

I go off and on diets a lot always thinking I'm in the right mindset to make a change.  It almost never pans out because I'm not 100% mentally there.  On February 28, I decided that I wanted to lose the remaining 5 lbs I had of baby weight (from Ryan) before he turned one on April 22.  So, I literally dumped half of my pantry out, began researching and meal planning for a week at a time, figured out lunches at work, planned snacks, and joined Weight Watchers online.  It was a day's activity for sure!

I've always complained that I've starved on Weight Watchers  in the past.  However, with the revised point system, it has really helped me stay full!  I've learned to fill up on fruits and vegetables rather than 100 calorie packs which never fill me up!  And the sweet part is that all fruits and most vegetables are 0 points!

I can honestly say that my WW recipes for dinner have been better than any meal I've cooked before.  There has not been a meal that I've said "that tasted like diet food."  In fact, most of the time Josh and I say that we are amazed it's not more fattening than it is! I've really branched out in making different things.  It's made our grocery bill go up a little, but it's a small price to pay for results!

So, my friends, after 4 weeks I have lost those 5 lbs with three weeks to spare until Ryan's first birthday.  Easily!  I've also lost 0.5 inches in my hips, 1.0 inch in my waist, 1.5 inches in my thighs, and 0.25 inches in my arms.  I've not worked out a day yet but it is coming...

I'm glad to lose those 5 lbs, but I have 10 more lbs to go to get to pre-Tyler weight which is basically my weight at marriage!  Those pounds will be harder and exercise will have to happen.  As a side note, my body is no where in shape.  Things are situated very differently than how they were pre-Ryan!

I will update in another 4 weeks and let you know where I am.  But for now, I feel so much better and love that I don't even feel like I'm dieting most of the time!  And I'm glad that I can finally wear something other than my "fat black pants" to work.  I can wear all of my normal pre-pregnancy clothes.  Thank goodness!

In case anyone is interested in a great, healthy recipe site for WW, this is the one I use a lot for meal planning.
