I feel like I just wrote a long update...in fact I did HERE! But Ryan has again changed so much in a month's time!
He has perfected the art of crawling---and he does it very well and FAST! He is into anything and everything! You name it, he wants it! Tyler never once tried to open cabinets, but Ryan has already figured it out. The few cabinets where the child locks broke off over the past years will soon have to be fixed! I have to make sure the laptop, remotes, cords, nightlights, and shoes are all put away. These are a few of his favorite items!
He is walking with a walker but in a straight leg fashion :) Tyler was a very early walker, walking at 10 1/2 months. I'm not sure we will be there, but I think Ryan is on his way to learning! He is walking along furniture and loves to pull up on just about anything. It's pretty funny when we are on the couch and then up pops Ryan's head from the other side of the end table! He roams the house and is free to as long as our master bedroom and the hall bath doors are closed. He loves his baths and will make a dart for the bathroom when he hears me turn on the water! Any time I have the refrigerator open, he makes a mad dash to go explore!
Ryan is perfecting his pincher grasp and feeding himself some finger foods that dissolve once in the mouth. He is still not big on table foods, although I did give him real apple sauce the other day, and he loves it. He still makes weird faces when I give him mashed up bananas or carrots. So for now, it's still the baby food and 30 oz of milk a day. I've tried the sippy cup with him with some water inside. He'd rather chew on the handle for now but we're working on it. :)
He has finally started to sleep through the night. Cue the "hallelujah" chorus! It involved minor crying to get there and still requires it every once and a while. He goes down at 7pm with a bottle and wakes up anywhere between 6 and 6:30am. He typically naps at 9 am for 1 hr and again at 1pm for 2 hrs.
His hair is really starting to grow, but ironically it's not filling out on the sides. So, he has more hair towards the middle and the back. :) I cut a tiny bit off of his bangs Sunday night. I won't consider it his first haircut quite yet though..... :)
He is learning "bye bye" and it comes out "baba." He is not waving yet, but we work on it. He understands that when people or things leave, that we say "baba!" He has said "mama" a few times, but he is very particular when he chooses to say it! And he is saying "dada" of course. He babbles quite a bit and loves exploring all of his sounds!
Though I never turn the TV on specifically for Ryan, having an older sibling means it's often on by default in the evenings or early mornings. Ryan really doesn't have much interest, but he is a clear fan of Mickey Mouse...just like his big brother was!
He has 8 teeth and is tolerating their "entrance" better and better! :) I have no idea his weight, but I would not guess he's gained much since his 9 month visit.
He is such a content baby. Really, I just melt every day when I see him. His happiness and laughter is contagious! I'm really soaking up these months and cannot believe in two short months, we will be celebrating his first birthday!
