Tyler’s birthday started this morning around 7:15 am when he woke up. As usual, I asked him to use the potty and change into underwear. I guess he was so used to getting dressed for school first thing in the morning that he came out into the living room dressed all by himself for the day!
He had put the two stickers he had gotten the day before at school back on his shirt! One said “I am the helper,” and the other one said “Happy Birthday.”
Last night during my usual insomnia moments, I had noticed that Josh had picked up a birthday donut on his way home from work, so rather than make Tyler the birthday pancakes I had planned, this was much easier. :)
After breakfast, I promised Tyler that I’d take him back to Jumpin Beans, where his party was last weekend. So, after making sure he realized he was not having a party there and wouldn’t know anyone there AND that mommy was not jumping with him, we went!
After an hour of jumping and playing, we met up with two friends, Karson (1 1/2) and Elisa (3 1/2) at good ole “Old McDonalds.” Aka: McDonalds. Despite my efforts to suggest Chick-fil-a, it was his birthday so we went where he wanted! Karson brought an adorable puppy cake that he was incredibly excited about!
After lunch, we came home to see daddy who had woken up after his shift. We let Tyler open his present from us. After the party last weekend, we went cheap on presents! You can see that daddy put it in a baby shower gift bag!
Finally after an unsuccessful nap attempt, Tyler had some time to play outside in the cooler, but still warm and beautiful weather!
Finally, every year since Tyler’s been born I make a video montage. So, without further adieu, here it is:
