About a month ago, I had planned to go to the beach for a weekend getaway with one of my friends. It was a chance to get away from stress and get some rest! So, when the forecast called for the winter storm of the south, I was not so thrilled. Josh is scheduled to work this weekend, so my idea of relaxing was out the door. I was really bitter and annoyed.
But it all turned around this morning seeing Tyler’s reaction to 6 inches of snow outside our window.
And it turned around even further when Josh said he was going to get up early before work to take Tyler sledding. Hallelujah! I didn’t know how I was going to pull that off myself!
So, while we waited for daddy to get up, Tyler and I baked blueberry muffins.
Around 10 am, Josh woke up and we all headed out in the snow! This was the first time Tyler had ever been sledding, and he loved it! He wanted to go down the hill over and over again, but we could tell he was wearing down but wouldn’t admit it! I know Josh was! We borrowed our neighbor’s sled and yard!!
Obviously, I was the photographer and not a participant. You should have seen me struggling to figure out what to put on my body this morning! I honestly pulled up my ski pants and started laughing. Not even close! So, I put a pair of leggings and then squeezed maternity jeans on top. I’ve gained weight, but I felt my legs looked like puff balls! haha
We lasted about 1 1/2 hrs, got a family picture and headed back in for hot chocolate ;)
…and I’m assuming we’ll do it all over again tomorrow! Tyler is dying to make a snowman!
And in the end, it’s 4:30 and Tyler’s still napping. So, I kinda got a relaxing afternoon after all :)

It looks like you all had a really great time!!!!! Tyler was sledding like a pro! We made it outside for about 30 minutes before Kenzie started coughing so we went back in.
