SING, SING, SING, SING

Tyler must know he’s in a musical family.  His great grandmother was a music teacher and still at 92 years old can sit down at a piano and play a song by heart.  His Mimi and Grandmother sang in choirs.  His daddy played trombone growing up (he is yelling at me for posting that) and can carry a fairly decent tune.  Now, I’m supposed to type that he really wanted to play something cool like guitar or drums.  And his mommy sang and danced growing up.  So, you’d think I’d love the sound of his precious redheaded voice singing.

Think again.

As cute as it probably is to an outsider, Tyler sings every.second.of.the.day.  I’m not kidding.  From the moment he wakes up till the moment he goes to bed, he sings.  He sings actual songs, songs he makes up, and sometimes will sing conversations.  I have always loved Christmas time, but if I hear another Christmas tune in my house I might scream.   The other day he kept singing “Deck the halls to be a donkey” no matter how many times we told him we told him there was not a donkey in that song.

Sure, it’s adorable at times.  Like when we are in the grocery store and he belts out “Jingle Bell Rock” followed by his rendition of “This Little Light of Mine.”  Or when we are in the car driving to school and he sings at the top of his lungs whatever he feels like talking singing about.

In fact, he’s singing now.   Are you surprised?  Cause I’m not.
