Another daycare drama

So, some of you have heard me complain about how messed up Tyler's daycare can be at times. Well, today is no different. I walked in and Tyler's diaper was dirty, so the one teacher in there was going to change it. There were only 5 kids left at that time, so it was fine for only one teacher to be in there. However, since her attention and back was away from the other kids, I watched as the kids opened drawers WITHOUT child locks that had adult scissors, push pins, and a stapler in there. The reason I know is b/c I walked over to try and help the teacher b/c she was saying not to open the drawers. I thought I'd help her by going over and closing it so the kids couldn't get in the drawer. Well, once I got over and saw them pulling the stuff out, I realized what was in there. I closed it and waited until Tyler was done being changed then walked straight to the director and told her. I said if my child comes home with a wound from where another child or himself stabs himself witha push pin or scissors I will sue in a heartbeat. Of course, I was too nice about it but I strongly urged her to either move the items in the drawer up high or place child locks on them b/c OBVIOUSLY 2 year olds can reach desk drawers!!! She was appalled (of course) she always is. She is so sweet but this is the fault of management, not just the teachers.

Needless to say, I'm touring another daycare in the area that's the same price for full time and will get on their waitlist. It's probably pretty long, but maybe he'll have a place by March or so.

Okay so that is totally NOT cool! I'm glad you have Tyler on a waiting list somewhere else. That's totally uncalled for that they have those things where the kids can access them! YIKES.
