Social Gatherings!

All I've ever wanted or hoped that I wanted was to live in a neighborhood where there are kids and people my age.  We've lucked out because it seems to be that way here.  Not only are there a ton of kids ( a lot of boys) on our street, but the women I've met so far are super sweet and pretty much my age!  I had heard about the street gatherings at night, but last night was the first time I witnessed it!  Apparently our driveway was always the gathering place, so with kids not knowing any differently, it remained that way for the most part last night!  For at least an hour, the kids played (probably 8 kids in total) while the adults talked.  It was so nice...like incredibly nice.  The family that moved out of our house is still local until they officially move and are close friends with all of our neighbors.  So, they will still be coming around quite a bit.  In fact, the previous owner and I email quite frequently! I still haven't met a few people who are out of town and coming back Saturday.  Unfortunately and fortunately, we are leaving for the beach this weekend for a week.  Of course now that we are unpacked, I have to pack us all back up for a week! ;)
