In the past week, a few things have happened that I can write about now. Here we go!
Josh and I spent hours interviewing realtors last week in the evenings, and we finally decided on one who we hope will be a good match. While we are expecting to lose money on our house (which is a bummer), we hope that we can sell our house this year with a much more aggressive marketing plan. Josh has spent this week putting out mulch, edging, painting. I still need to do a few cleaning activities (i.e. cleaning base boards), but we should be ready to start taking pictures and listing by the end of the month.
We are SO excited to say that Tyler is selected to be in the Academically/Intellectual Gifted (AIG) Program at his school! From what I understand, many schools don't start this at the Kindergarten level, so I'm not sure if it's a county-wide program or a program his elementary school is offering at a younger age. Either way, a specialist has been observing classrooms and selecting individuals who exhibit certain characteristics relating to the thinking skill being taught. A permission slip came home Monday asking us to consider him for the program. I believe he will go to a separate classroom for 30 minutes every other week to focus on these skills. Tyler is our little smartie and always thinking creatively!
Speaking of his school, they celebrated the 100th day of school on Monday. Apparently, this is a common celebration among schools! We had to bring in 100 of something for the kids to count. So, we brought 100 jingle bells that we found at Walmart in the craft section. For homework that evening, he had to write a story about what he would do with $100. In case you are wondering, he wrote that he would buy a bigger bunk bed!
