My "blurbing" project

A while ago I posted that I hoped to publish a blog book to preserve all of the posts I've written since 2008. Well, this week I started on that task! I've been using blurb.com to "slurp" (yes, I said slurp) my posts from 2009 into the program. I decided since I only blogged a short while in 2008 to start publishing beginning in 2009. While it has not been an easy program to work in and after an email to their help desk entitled "lost in blurb world," I have finally figured it out, and I'm SO excited to order my first published book! In publishing by year (or volumes), I will save on cost tremendously. Plus, it helps to keep posts organized. I was able to leave out several posts that weren't exactly needed in my book, so my final total of pages dwindled from 164 to 88!

While I've always thought I was in the wrong profession due to my love of photography, video editing, and blogging, this definitely proves it to me. I have spent hours beyond hours designing this book--how I want each page to look. While the program downloads your posts, you still have quite a bit of work to do (which is what took me the longest to figure out). I'm so excited to write my last piece, the introduction, and then send it off to the "presses!" Because it's down to 88 pages, I don't expect the cost to be nearly as bad as I thought it would be when I was considering publishing everything at once. If you want to see what a finished product looks like, you can view one at THIS blog I follow. She is who gave me the incentive to get moving! I'll update with pictures once I'm done and have my first book!
