Start them young

I got the idea from reading my friend's website. She's so creative with stuff like this. Honestly, I'd never thought about starting "chores" so early! But, really at this age, Tyler loves helping out. So, I should probably take advantage of it.

Chore #1: Clean the table after dinner

Chore #2: put the placemats back on the table

+ cleaning up all toys that are out.

Result: Reap the rewards of 10 big ole cents.

Hey, he has no concept of money yet. But he knows he wants it! The way my friend is doing it, and I might do it as well, is that after gathering $1, he gets to go to the dollar store. We will probably not do it that often but we'll figure something out!

could you please bring Tyler to my house and get him to teach my kids how to clean up after themselves??!!

Love it!

What a good idea (with the dollar store)! I'll have to remember it!

i am so cheap- i use pennies! My kids LOVE "monies" & they don't care what kind of money- so i give them pennies! Mema & Grandad give them dollars & quarters etc all the time though, so their piggies fill right up too! This is how i finally got through to Eli for pottying! And it was cheaper than using m&m's. However, what he wants to buy with his money is M&M's!
