Last night our group went to an 80s party sponsored by a company exhibiting here at the DIA. The first year I went to DIA, there was a salsa party. Last year, it was in a fancy bar. But here in San Diego, it was located at the top of the Hard Rock Hotel. We had a blast! Free food and free drinks. And, a GREAT 80s cover band!
Fast forward to tonight.
I quite simply ate the best meal of my life
lobster crusted pacific halibut $33
baby "marble mix" potatoes, wild mushrooms, black truffle vinaigrette
I am as plain jane as you can get with food (though I'm getting much better with age). I could have ordered a steak, but I wanted to venture out especially since it's on work's tab! We had appetizers (shrimp and lobster potstickers and calamari) Yes, I ate the calamari. I had a caesar salad. And yes, there was dessert. It was every kind of chocolate imaginable. It was heaven!
I've worked out every morning here, and I will definitely be continuing that trend after this meal. :)
