I decided to post this today instead of yesterday b/c I just wasn't sure if two posts in one day was allowed.
So, day 3 of my three day weekend with a 2.5 year old ..I decided I had to get the heck out of the house. So, we packed up and Tyler and I headed to the city. Thirty minutes later we were at Target and I was praying, begging, and bribing that my little redhead would be nice and sit in the cart. I got him in one of those carts with the special seats at the front where kids can stand up or sit down. Figured he'd like it. Five mins later, he was running like a wild ape in the jungle down the toy aisle.
After that fun, we went to Barnes and Nobles for book time. I sat on the chair marked "do not move from this station" while Tyler played. I kept thinking, why would anyone really want to move that chair? Did someone try to move it to ..oh say...the gardening section one time? And then the manager said "we must put a sign up." Anyway...i digress.
It was 11:15 when we left. I asked Tyler if he was hungry. Asking a 2.5 year old boy if he is hungry is like asking a pig if he'd like to roll in mud. So, we ended up at Kemp's Seafood...at 11:15am...on Labor Day...Monday. What I found when I walked in is the premise for this post.
I've always loved this restaurant b/c it's like walking into the inside of a boat when you come in. So cool! And the food...oooh so yummy! The hushpuppies..to die for. Well, wouldn't you know it we walked in and my boat restaurant was a freaking TAKE OUT restaurant!!!!! I walked to the take out register and muttered..."what have you guys done?!" She directed me to the lunch menu strategically placed on a white board to the left of me. I placed our order while little redhead pranced about in what was once the precious boat place. She handed me a number...number 63. It was 11:15am and I was number 63? I asked if they would bring the food out. Apparently, this is not the standard but for us they would do it. After all, the woman could see how visibly distraught I was. We ate in our take out boxes. That's right peeps, not even a paper plate. I couldn't even enjoy my shrimp. I sat staring confused as Tyler smeared his hands in the ketchup pile. You'd think for all the downgrading they did, the prices would be cheaper. $18 later, we left...tyler a crusted ketchup mess and me...well, missing my seafood boat restaurant. What is wrong with these people??
