For what seems like forever, I've been wanting to develop friendships within a neighborhood. Our last neighborhood did not have a lot of people our age, so one of the driving factors when searching for a house was the right neighborhood for our family. When we moved, everyone in the neighborhood told us we had the best street. Well, that is accurate! Everyone is so active, and there are SO many kids!
Last Friday night, we had a driveway party. At one point, I stopped and stared around me. I witnessed 12 kids (10 boys and 2 girls) in our small little front yard playing with every toy we owned, and 11 adults sitting in lawn chairs chatting. We did smores with the kids and a few other adult beverage games ;) It was a great night, and I'm sure it will not be the last!
