I've done about 90% of the packing for our move, and that's actually been ok with me. I somewhat enjoy packing for some reason. I know most people don't, but when given over a month to do it, it's actually been therapeutic for me. I do a little each day. Now, if I only used this approach with cleaning!
A lot has gone to Goodwill, and a lot was sold in our yard sale. A lot was thrown away! It felt so nice to have the time to go through and organize. I feel like once we move in, there will at least be some sort of organization and not a lot of "junk" that we don't need.
We are set to close and move next Friday, June 29th at 9:00 am. It's a bittersweet feeling to leave behind an acre of land and move to 0.19 acres! That will probably be a huge shock for our entire family, Walker included! I cannot imagine throwing a ball for Walker and it almost positively going into our neighbor's yard. But 'tis city life! It will also be a huge culture shock to live within minutes and miles of anything and everything. I cannot even imagine how great, yet financially dangerous this is for us! And last, I think about how it will feel to have Josh working in the same city that we live in and him knowing all the crime that's going on right around the corner. Not that where we are moving is high-crime, but every city/town has its issues.
Tyler is so excited for "stairs." I am too, but I'm sure the thrill will die soon after going up and down them a lot! Josh and I envision upgrades to the kitchen and new furniture, but we need to get IN the house first before we envision too much!
Here is just 1/4th of our garage in its current state. See those color-coded labels? That's all me, folks!
