We are so proud of our soon-to-be first grader!
I never had a worry about Tyler this year in kindergarten. He has always excelled in preschool, so the transition to elementary school was truly not hard for me as it might be for others. Was I emotional? Maybe a little, but I really coped well with him going to kindergarten.
Tyler has learned so much this year. When he started back in August, he could not read a thing. Now, he is reading Level 2 books. He amazes me at what he can read! His writing has made so much progress as well, and he is definitely our little math pro! He is a thinker...always figuring things out creatively. He has not only grown in intelligence but also in size. He has grown a size in clothes and shoes.
His award ceremony was yesterday where he received a certificate for high achievement in reading!
We learned this week where his new school will be. We didn't get any of our top choices. In fact, we got our sixth choice, but I've been hearing good things about the school so for now, we are happy with the school choice. He will be on a traditional calendar rather than year-round (like we thought he would be). So, he has a true summer vacation and will start first grade August 27!
