Up until now, I've been the sole packer/organizer for this move. Josh has been occupied with the fundraiser, so I went ahead and did what I could. That involved a LOT of sorting and throwing out of things. Between my closet and Josh's, we had eight garbage bags of clothes to get rid of! And since I don't think there will be a reason to continue to keep my college communication papers, I finally tossed those. I went through a ton of stuff deciding whether it was worth the move or not. A lot got tossed and a lot went into the donate or yard sale pile. Even Tyler joined in on the process and tossed out a lot of his toys. In fact, he tossed out more than I would have expected! It was a little bittersweet to see us saying goodbye to his Mickey Mouse figurines, Toy Story characters, and other items he was once so obsessed with.
I made it my mission to pack a few boxes a week, but this past weekend I got down to business. Between packing 70% of the kitchen, boxing what toys I could of the boys', and going through Tyler's closet to put "too small" clothes in a bin in the attic, I was quite busy! But that's not all. I also starting preparing for a yard sale. I got through newborn to 12 month clothes, carefully organizing by season before I stopped that project due to the emotional factor!
But the main project today was our garage. Aside from the attic, it was the biggest to tackle--in fact probably a lot worse. But we worked over 4 hours on it this afternoon and got everything done.
Here are some progress pictures!
