Over the weekend I heard my share of two curse words: the "d*mn it" word and the f-word.
Did that get your attention? Let's begin.
Let's begin with the innocent intentions of my two-year-old. Ryan's latest thing is replacing the "t" sound with the "f" sound. The thing is, he only does this for the word "truck." Get my gist? Imagine my horror when my truck-obsessed son walks around yelling "big truck!" It starts off funny and then turns pretty embarrassing! He says "truck" about a million times a day!
The not-as-innocent intentions of my six-year-old happened over the weekend as well...and in front of my mother. While playing his Leapster Explorer, Tyler got frustrated and yelled the "d" word completely in context. I didn't hear it the first time, but my mom did and told me. Then later, I heard him say it with my own ears. It was one of those moments where I just sat and thought to myself, surely he doesn't know what that really means. But then again, he used it correctly! Josh and I had a talk with him about how some words are not nice, and that was one of them. He seemed genuinely sorry and said he didn't know. The kicker? He probably learned it from us. Little ears...they hear!!!
And it starts!
