- Hiding his pacis on purpose in his room and then crying out for them which sends me into a full out scavenger hunt. I'm still missing one.
- Pulling all of the wipes out of his wipe container TWICE (see exhibit A)
- Taking his clothes off
- Pulling his nightlight out of the wall
- Banging his head against the door in protest
- Endless attempts to put him back in the bed

Apparently that first day in the big boy bed was just a one-time thing. After that, we had more of a struggle at nap times and definitely a struggle at bed times. Throughout the night, he would cry out and try to get out of his room. One night I left his door cracked because without the door opened, his room gets really cold. At 1 am, I opened my eyes to see Ryan walking past my bed and into our bathroom. I have no idea what made me open my eyes, but I'm glad I did! Monday night, I was up at 1 am and then back up at 4am. Both Ryan and I never made it back to sleep. It was awful. Of course with Josh on night shift, it was just me enduring this pain. So, I made a plea on Facebook for help and ended up with the conclusion that we needed a crib tent. Luckily, my coworker had one that I bought for cheap. So, last night I tried it out. Though I feel it's premature to say that this will be a trend, Ryan did sleep much better last night. However, I have to admit that I felt a little strange zipping him up and then walking away. Ryan was not too thrilled either.
I never thought I would be caging my toddler in his crib, but the past few nights were enough for me to resort to it. We're not ready for a big boy bed! Not until he figures out how to get out of the tent!
Here's to caging!
