I run the risk of sounding like an unappreciative mother by writing this post, so I'll start off by saying this. I love Tyler's hugs and his loving nature. He is my super affectionate child. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to give hugs. He LOVES to tell us he loves us. He does this, no lie, numerous times a day unprompted.
With Tyler, there are a few types of hugs:
There is the loving, slow approach hug. This involves him already nearby and gently leaning over to hug us. This is the preferred hugging approach.
There is the extended hug. This involves him hugging with his dead weight and not letting go which leaves the recipient feeling like they are going to fall down at any moment.
Then, there is the surprise attack hug. This, my friends, comes out of thin air just when you are zoned in to a TV show or starting to snooze. Before you know it, he zooms in and jumps on you while simultaneously yelling "I love you" and slamming into your chest with a bony elbow. Need an image? See below.
Like I said, I love that he is a hugger. I know he probably won't be for much longer. So, I'll take his array of hugs any day, but that's not to say I won't have a bruised chest.
