While the weather outside is not so Christmas-like with our 60 degree days, we've certainly had plenty of holiday activities going on. Tyler's class has been learning about Christmas around the world for the past two weeks. Each day, they learned about a new country and made an ornament to represent what they learned. There is currently a wrapped present under our tree that has all of the eight ornaments he has made for each country. It's been fun to learn myself about other country's traditions. He is so funny with his fascination with the song, "Feliz Navidad," so when I told him that it was a song originating from Mexico he has been excited to learn about Mexico at school. In addition to Mexico, his class learned about Norway, Italy, Germany, England, Sweden, and a few others that I can't seem to remember at the moment!
Yesterday, his school had a Polar Express day which I'm learning must be a common event at many other schools. All of the children were allowed to wear their pajamas, and his class had hot chocolate, popcorn, and watched the Polar Express movie in the class. They each had tickets to enter the classroom ....or the North Pole as it was set up to be. He had a great time! Today is his class party, a half day, and also his last day of school until January 2.
P.S. Tyler's hair is short again on accident. We were trying to let it grow, but I'm convinced there is not a single hairdresser in our proximity that understands what we mean by "trim."
Ryan's school party and program is Dec. 20. I cannot even imagine what a class of one year olds are capable of doing, but I shall find out! :)
Wacky, our elf, is still visiting our house this season and is silly as ever. I'll leave you with a few of his latest stunts.
