Preparing: Kindergarten and Baseball

This weekend we prepared for two “big boy” things:  kindergarten and baseball!

Taking advantage of NC’s tax free weekend, we headed out to get the school supplies on his list.  Last weekend, Grandma LeConey helped with some of the list when she kept Tyler.  So, we had to get the remaining items this weekend.  In addition, we ordered Tyler a book bag from LLBean.  He wanted the one with the snake on it!

And this isn’t exactly about kindergarten, but we did get new bookcases in his room to organize his books!  So many of his books have transitioned to Ryan that he didn’t have as many left!

We also gave Tyler a crash course in baseball.  I blogged earlier that it was tee-ball, but it’s actually coach-pitched baseball!  We got an email that the “tryouts” are this Tuesday evening.  They will play a little and then get put on teams.  Let’s just say that we need every bit of practice these few days!  Smile

And batting!

I have to say that I’m a tad nervous for Tyler.  I hope there are some other beginners on his team!!  But he is really picking it up.  We just have to remind him that he can move with his mitt.  He stands there and holds it out waiting for the ball to come to him.  Winking smile  Practice!

How exciting!! I'm sure he'll love baseball! My boys had tryouts too and there were a lot of beginners...so I'm sure he won't be the only one!
