But seriously. Don't remind me.
<-----This picture represents this age SO perfectly :)
Ryan is still sleeping well at night and for his naps. It's been nice getting a
Our little chunker loves table food and has tasted foods ranging from fish and chicken to several fruits. In this next month, we will get him ready to transition to the sippy cup. We had Tyler off the bottle at 12 months and plan to do the same with Ryan. However, encouraging my son to actually hold the cup will take some work! He can drink out of it, but we are still working on him taking control of the cup.
He is saying "mama," "dada," and "baba" (for bye bye and bottle). He talks and sings all the time. He's a very vocal baby! He is also waving but still no clapping!
Ryan, Ryan....our little mischievous redhead. Oh, that he is! But he's such a sweet and happy baby! The house is a playground to him, and he's traveled to the kitchen cabinets, the dog's bowl, and the refrigerator all in the last month. Quite an explorer, he is!
If he sees me come towards him to get him away from something, he gives a huge grin and starts crawling at the speed of lightening away from me. I'm telling ya...he's gonna be something!
He is still very content with crawling and shows no signs of walking right now. This, of course, is very different from Tyler, but we are happy with whatever works for Ryan! I think he will walk later because he crawled later. And honestly, I'm totally ok with one less walker around here for now. :)
Ryan has really learned to "play." He plays a simple version of hide and seek with Tyler, and it's so cute to listen to them both cackle and laugh!
Speaking of Tyler, do you wonder what he looked like at 11 months?
Once I get past the nasty carpet and old furniture we had back then, I see a resemblance, but definitely see differences! Now, I really need to find these toys up in the attic!
Ryan, you've learned the art of breaking through child locks, pushing the highchair tray off even when locked in, and finding any nightlight that is exposed in the house. You have proven that you will eat pine cones, paper, and even dog food. You freakishly have learned to chew on just the right button on the remote to turn on the TV. You know how to spot one of mommy's distractions so that you can quickly swoop in and grab my food off my plate. And you've even learned the art of dropping things on the floor just to see if daddy and I will pick them up over and over. For the record, we do.
But Ryan, one thing's for sure. You have captured our hearts and the hearts of most anyone who runs into you. There is nothing more contagious than a smile and laugh.
