I learned about their mother/son date knight a few weeks ago, and I signed us up to go to the nearest location (about 20 mins away). Tyler and I both dressed up for the occasion, and as a true gentlemen he read the directions out loud the entire drive there. And he actually did well because I didn't exactly know where I was going for half of the drive!
When we arrived, we checked in with our reservation, and I was given a rose. We sat down and had an array of activities to do. The first was a family shield. Tyler chose which animal represented our family and drew a picture. He chose the fish which meant energetic! I think he was too excited because I've seen him draw better than this, but it's still cute :)
As we ate, we used the conversation starters they provided to have a discussion. Since they were pretty cute, I'm putting them here.
What does a boy have to do to become a knight?
"He needs to be brave."

(after me reminding him of when he broke his arm, he agreed he was brave then!)

"Under my bed"

"Hulk!"
What kinds of things can you protect me (your mom) or others against?
"Daddy's poots!" Ok...i'll take it.
Is being a knight just about fighting with a sword?
"No, it's about being brave."
Would you rather have super strength or the ability to fly?
(he first said super strength but then changed to ability to fly)
Would you rather be a spider for a week or an elephant for a year?
"Spider!"
Would you rather give up candy or ice cream forever?
"candy!"
Would you rather live on the moon or underwater in the ocean?
"Underwater so I could see all the fish."
Would you rather wear a clown nose or clown shoes to school?
"clown nose."
We ate our free cookies, and Tyler received a balloon sword...which popped in the middle of Omega Sports afterward. He was so sad, he cried!
But we had a great time!
