And finished the evening by making these:
Christmas Eve, Tyler and I traveled to my parents’ house. Tyler got his fix of plenty of Christmas movies.
Later before bed, we put out the reindeer food so that Santa would know to come to Mimi and Paw Paw’s house!
Josh worked until midnight and then drove 1.5 hrs to the house for Christmas morning. He got in around 2 am, was in bed around 3am, and woke up around 6:45am. Though I went to bed earlier, I was still up at 2am helping Josh bring everything in. Tyler was an early riser! But he woke up Christmas morning immediately asking “if Santa came.” Over and over again he asked as we prevented him from going in the living room too early. In fact, a huge reason I got little sleep is b/c I had to make sure Tyler didn’t get up and run into the living room without us! If that had happened, we never would have gotten pictures like:
Why yes, that was the “car” Tyler’s been asking for. A 4 wheeler actually. And yes, we had to try it out immediately before the rain came (which it did minutes after we came back inside).
Who do you think looks more excited?
After showers, we went to my grandmother’s house for present opening and lunch. Tyler got many fun things like Candyland, a McQueen blanket and sleeping bag, and a McQueen radio/cd player. Can you sense a theme?
Later that afternoon, we headed back over to Mimi and Paw Paw’s house for family presents. There, Tyler got another game, a car, some books, an outfit, the Trio building system, and other things I’m likely forgetting.
You can see that Josh didn’t last long.
Saturday, we headed home to our house to unwind for less than 24 hrs. You can see that Tyler decided how he wanted to spend his unwinding time.
Sunday, we headed over to the LeConeys for Christmas. After a great lasagna dinner, we began the present opening. Tyler was bombarded with even more gifts. Tyler got a ton of gifts that I won’t try and name here (mainly b/c I have preggo memory).
And in case you wondered if I participated in Christmas away from the camera, here’s proof.
My unexpected gift from my Brother and Sister In-laws was this magnificent thing:
Who’s up for a walk? I will be once May comes around and I’m fighting the baby weight during bathing suit season! It’s a baby carrier complete with sunroof (not pictured). As heavy as it looks, it’s actually quite lightweight! And, it doesn't just have to be used for hiking. Speaking of baby, I got another baby present from my parents--matching outfits for Tyler and "no name baby" next fall from Children's Place!
So, there you have it. Our Christmas is complete! Oh…and how could I forgot? My husband got me a new laptop, which is conveniently being used to write this blog now. Windows 7 is genius and has a Windows Live Writer that works for blogs. So, I’m writing this without being online at all. No uploading pictures and long wait times. I click publish, and it does its thing. Love it!
Tyler’s at preschool today. I’m at home doing….this. And I only have to work Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Thank you Duke discretionary days!
Happy New Year!
