My house is clean. Luckily, I had two days to take my time to clean while Tyler was at preschool. I'm now officially ready for Christmas Eve and the chaos that follows it! What's the chaos? I shall tell. We'll start with tomorrow.
Wednesday, Dec. 23 (Christmas Eve)
Tyler is home with me, and I'll do my best to make sure that he doesn't make too much of a mess out of what is now a clean house. Around 1 or 2, my MIL (mother-in-law) is coming over to help start cooking for dinner. Josh is on day shift and will get home around 7:15. At that time, we'll eat Brenda's homeade lasagna and garlic bread and open presents! It will probably be a late night, so Tyler's going to be in bed around 9:30 I'm imagining. But not before sitting out milk and cookies for Santa...
By the way, I asked Tyler where Santa came in to our house to bring presents. He sure did walk right over to the front door. You can't blame him I guess. He looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned he came down the chimney. He's going to be a smart one.
Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas day)
I don't care who I leave behind, we have to be out of the house by 9:30am to be in Jamestown by 11. But I should back up. Tyler will wake us up around 7am. I will wake up Josh at 7:05 am, and hopefully if Josh makes it out of bed, we'll do Santa presents first thing before showering up.
On the road by 9:30 with hubby, son, and dog on the way to Great GaGa's house. (Tyler calls my grandmother this). 11am and we are opening presents as a family with my mom's side of the family. Chaos begins. We eat, play, snooze.
No nap for Tyler this day. Imagine the fun.
Friday, Dec. 26
Spend a little family down time, but then at 3 Josh and I will be out the door to drive to Winston-Salem for Taylor and Chris' wedding rehearsal followed by the rehearsal dinner...yum! I'll give my speech (oh crap, I haven't finished it....) and Josh will be on his merry way back to Jamestown without me, while I'll settle in with Taylor and Sarah at the Marriot to prepare for the big day.
Saturday, Dec. 27
Taylor's wedding day! Breakfast, hair appt at 12, and to the church! Wedding's at 4:30!
Sunday, Dec. 28
Driving home...at last!
Monday, Dec. 29
