Success!

Yesterday was my first day back to work and leaving Ryan for longer than a few hours. I have to say it went very smoothly! Josh watched him yesterday and will today as well, so it wasn't too hard to leave him knowing that Josh has been around to know what to do!

If you remember THIS, THIS, and THIS post regarding the huge grant I worked on earlier this year that about sent me off the edge, I got fabulous news the day before I returned to work. It received a great score and stands a great chance of being funded. With all the hard work I put in to that grant, it was a perfect time to get positive news before going to work. It was also nice to be recognized via email for the work put into it.

Returning to work so far has been much better than I anticipated. I knew I needed to go back, but I realized that this is my norm. This is my balance. It was nice to see familiar faces and even put my brain to use and do actual work!

I managed to pump three times, and while time consuming I'm committing to give this a two week trial. If I can manage it, I really have no reason not to continue. I do have to say that I felt I was never at my desk yesterday!

In addition, I managed a 30 minute workout. Oh, how I've missed that time at the end of a work day! It was nice to have time to do it before coming home to a second job!

Speaking of coming home, I picked up Tyler and then we headed home to Josh and Ryan. Ryan did awesome yesterday with Josh. He's had a great week so far! He was all smiles when I got home and funny enough, he didn't want to go to sleep at 7:30 when he usually does. He literally "talked" to me longer than ever. I'm convinced he was telling me all about his day!! So, we got to have more time than I anticipated. A nice perk!

Tomorrow he will go to stay with a neighbor who will be watching him on days that Josh is working. We are going to do this for a few months until we can budget appropriately for two in daycare! So, really check in with me tomorrow! That might be when I really am a wreck! :)
